Keeping or elominating this kind of thing will not affect the bottom line in any significant way. Lots of jobs offer lunch for meetings or expense accounts when away. Proper receipts and accounting of the expenses are important. I do not understand why anyone is concerned about these expenses unless they are for unbelievable things or amounts like cruises or hotels and the like that do not relare to the job. How about if we move on to something important.Chris D.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-460062076455326962.post-85770564298125748892011-03-10T17:59:35.074-05:002011-03-10T17:59:35.074-05:00Now that the election is over, why has Mayor Joe n...Now that the election is over, why has Mayor Joe not offered to donate all/some of his City stipend to a local needy charity? He receives a excellent pension from his time as a federal MP and Cabinet minister which some can only dream of

I can understand and complement his not wanting to appear to "buy votes" before the election. But post election, such a gesture would likely be perceived by Londoner's as Joe being civic minded above all else.Byronguynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-460062076455326962.post-57699277346057271272011-03-10T17:24:32.202-05:002011-03-10T17:24:32.202-05:00Unfortunately, the Ward 4 councillor is reeling fr...Unfortunately, the Ward 4 councillor is reeling from issue to issue not based on developing good public policy objectively but based on his own perceived public image in the local media.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-460062076455326962.post-14297871053958433162011-03-10T09:40:27.550-05:002011-03-10T09:40:27.550-05:00Might be a way for the "good" councillor...Might be a way for the "good" councillor to lobby for a pay raise by arguing lunch would be at the councillors' own cost. Overall, it is nice to know we have a councillor who does nothing but the small petty stuff to keep his name in the news because the difficult stuff is too hard for him to understand.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-460062076455326962.post-81509838490891631192011-03-10T09:36:27.659-05:002011-03-10T09:36:27.659-05:00Here's an idea for saving money, Steve. That way the eggs will be nice and fresh for the cafeteria and the menu could feature all-you-can-eat scrambled eggs.

Then, thinking more long term, how about a few goats up there for milk and cheese and the occasional stew?

Soon we'll be in the tomato growing season...

anon oneAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
